Internship Overview:

The Training Student Intern Volunteer role offers students an immersive opportunity to delve into the mechanics of training and professional development for health professionals. While interning with New Vista, you will have hands-on opportunities to contribute to developing training programs, enhance your organizational skills, and expand your understanding of learning and development in a real-world setting. 

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to creating and enhancing training programs designed for mental health professionals.
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing training programs, workshops, and learning initiatives for employees and community participants. 
  • Participate in regular training and professional development meetings and present materials or recommendations.
  • Help maintain and update Relias, New Vista’s learning management system, with relevant training content.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling training sessions, managing training materials, and tracking participant attendance and feedback.
  • Perform administrative duties related to training and professional development programs.
  • Compile reports, maintain records, and assist with documentation as needed.

Hours of Opportunity:

8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday through Friday

Travel Requirements:

Possible travel can be expected but will be limited to the Lexington-Fayette area.

Requirement Details

Suitable for Students Pursuing a(n):

Associates, Bachelors, or Masters

Students must be actively enrolled in their program of study throughout the duration of the internship.

 

Suitable for Students Studying:

 

Community Leadership and Development, Organizational Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or other similar program of study.

 

Students selected for this position must provide the following:

·         Three Professional References

·         Current Official Transcript

·         Signed Contingent Offer Letter

·         Signed Reference Authorization

Students must also complete and pass the following:

·         Background Checks

·         Drug Screening

 

Additionally, unpaid interns are required to attend a one-day orientation. This orientation will fall on a Monday and is scheduled with New Vista’s Human Resources department upon completion and a successful review of all required materials. Students who are missing academic obligations such as courses or mandatory meetings will be provided with an excused absence note.
