Come work, learn, laugh and grow alongside the Jones Valley Teaching Farm Harvest Hands team.
Harvest Hands volunteers are a trained team that specializes in harvesting. Participants will deepen their involvement with Jones Valley Teaching Farm’s goal to build food-resilient, healthy, and connected communities in Birmingham, while gaining skills and experience harvesting on a small-scale diversified farm.
Participants must attend a JVTF Food Safety Training prior to joining the Harvest Hands team.
Harvest Days are held
Tuesdays 8:30am-12pm June-October
Fridays 8:30am-12pm May-November
Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
