About

Chicago HOPES for Kids provides after-school academic support to children and families living in homeless shelters and underserved communities across Chicago. Our program consists of three major components: homework help, individual literacy support and enrichment activities. Our curriculum is rooted in Social-Emotional Learning and Trauma-informed practices allowing for a focus not just on individual academic needs, but providing a whole-child approach.

Our programs are held 3-4 days a week for 2-2 1/2 hours at shelter sites and community spaces across Chicago. Programming runs on a semester basis year-round:

  • Fall Programming begins in September and runs through mid-December

  • Winter/Spring programming begins in January and runs through the end of May

  • Summer programming begins June and runs through early August.

All programs are coordinated out of our central office housed at 688 N. Milwaukee, Suite #301, Chicago, IL 60642.
