About
We are a group of friends who bring emergency needs (blankets, toiletries, tents, socks, pillows, etc) to a park known for having a lot of people experiencing homelessness (Freimann Square). We serve at the same time every two weeks (Every other Tuesday at 7 pm). The goal is to meet the immediate emergency needs of the street homeless. Regardless of their lifestyle everyone deserves a meal, a friend, warm clothes, and their right to be respected without being asked for something in return. Since 2015, we have cooked food at our homes or in different kitchens and then assembled and pass out the meals ourselves. August 2021, the Same City Food Truck, owned by Just Neighbors Family Shelter, cooks and gives FREE meals out of their truck while we focus on providing emergency items at our tables. This is a new and fantastic partnership to get involved with! Check out the WANE-TV article belowww!! Volunteers are welcome to get involved as much as they feel comfortable doing so. You're welcome to help set up tables and pass out items or just come to be good company and talk with the people we serve. If you would like to help provide items, shoot us an email or FB message. We are open to any ideas our volunteers have about donation drives and community partnerships. A few "rules": |
