Adopt-a-Program

About

The Adopt- a Program allows individuals or groups to “adopt” a Clearwater park or a one-mile stretch of a street or trail. The adopting party is responsible for two projects a year for a two-year contract period at their chosen site. The City of Clearwater will provide the necessary supplies and equipment for projects. Depending on the site and with approval, projects can include:

  • Cleanup-- Remove litter and debris
  • Invasive species removal
  • Planting
  • Habitat restoration
  • Painting
  • Laying fresh mulch/bark chips
  • Various landscaping duties such as raking, weeding, etc.

While the minimum requirement is two projects a year, adopting parties are encouraged to complete more frequent projects, with the approval of the volunteer coordinator and the Parks and Recreation Department.

After your first successful project is complete, the City of Clearwater will install an Adopt-a Program sign with your group or individual name displayed at the site of your adoption.

Interested in adopting? Click the “Join” button on this page and fill out a form detailing the site you wish you adopt, information about your group, etc., and our volunteer coordinator will reach out to you with next steps. Thank you so much for keeping our spaces beautiful!
